Spouse Visa

Do you have a spouse /partner in Australia and would you like to join them? They may be able to sponsor you to come to Australia and settle there permanently if they are Australian citizen, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizen. Application for the visa can be from inside or outside Australia. For Applications made from within Australia the applicant must have a valid substantive visa.

Prospective Marriage Visa

Fiancé(e)s of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens are able to apply to marry their Australian partner and then seek to remain permanently in Australia on the basis of that relationship through the Prospective Marriage Visa. This visa is valid for a period of 9 months once granted.

Parent Visa

If you have a child in Australia and they are eligible to sponsor you, then you have the opportunity to migrate to Australia. Want to join your children in Australia? Parents may be able to migrate if they have a child in Australia who is eligible to sponsor them.

There is a cap on the number of parent visas granted each year, for this reason applicants have been experiencing a substantial wait for their applications to be finalized.

A new Contributor Parent Visa category was introduced on the 5th of March 2003. The reason for this visa being introduced is to speed up the processing time for parents. There are a few options the applicants can opt for when applying for this visa. The first is to apply directly for permanent residency and pay a substantial second Visa application charge or to apply for temporary residence, resulting in a lesser second visa charge.

Aged Parent Visa

This visa is designed to incorporate older parents who have more children in Australia then in their own country. If this is the case with you where more of your children are in Australia then, you have the opportunity to be with them permanently.

Remaining Relative Visa

This visa is for those people who have all their close relatives in Australia. The applicant will need to demonstrate that they have a brother, sister or parent (including step equivalent) who is a permanent resident, Australian Citizen or eligible New Zealand Citizen residing in Australia. The relative shown as evidence will have to be the sponsor of the applicant in the application.

The applicant and the spouse will also need to demonstrate that they have no brothers, sisters, parents or children other than those in Australia. Applying for this visa can be from inside or outside Australia. If application is made from within Australia then, the applicant must have a valid substantive visa and be in Australia at the time the Visa is granted.
