Student Visa
There are seven student visa subclasses (570-576) in the student visa category. Each subclass represents one education sector. There is also a student guardian visa that was introduced from July 1st 2004, this is known as the subclass (580) visa.
Independent ELICOS Visa-
For students, who wish to improve their English. This category is for learners who would like to enrol in English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS).
Schools
Are you a student who wants to study at a Primary or Secondary school in Australia?
This category is for those who wish to enrol in a primary or secondary school and for those who would like to be in exchange programs.
Vocational Education & training Visa
Designed for students studying in courses leading certificates I-IV, Diploma, advanced Diploma vocational graduate certificate or a vocational graduate Diploma.
Higher Education Visa
Designed for students who intend to study courses at Institutions leading to a Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree by course work.
Postgraduate Research Visa
Students who would like to enrol at Institutions leading to a Master’s Degree by research or a Doctorate Degree.
Non-Award Visa
Designed for students who would like to enrol in non-award studies or other foundation or bridging courses or other full time courses not leading to an Australian Award.
Student Guardian Visa
Parents/guardians or relatives of young students who would like to be in Australia to provide care and support for students during the course of their studies in Australian Institutions.
